Unable to open hard drives by double clicking, here's the fix!

Sometimes it may happen in Windows XP that you are unable to open drives by double clicking the drive icon in the My Computer. This problem is caused by a virus which Infects Windows XP System. They block your access to the drives which causes a drive opening problem.Generally when this virus infects your system, they automatically create a file named autorun.inf in the root directory of each drive.

This file is a read only, system hidden file and the folder option is also disabled by the virus so as to protect itself.

To fix this problem follow the easy instructions below:

1. Go to Start >> Run and type cmd and press Enter.This will open a command prompt window.
2. Now type cd\. And press Enter.
3. Next type attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf and press Enter.
4. Next type del autorun.inf then press Enter.
5. Now type d: and press enter for d: drive partition. Now repeat steps 3 and 4. Similarly repeat step 5 for all your hard disk partition.Now, Restart your system and your trouble will be fixed.
